Positive ID Labels can supply direct thermal labels for use in most thermal printers. We have a range of production equipment to make thermal printer labels for your thermal printer. Direct thermal labels are made using our Daco 250 and Daco 350 turreted plain label converters. Turreted label converters benefit from an automated finishing system which means direct thermal labels are made in one production sequence. This saves time and money and those savings are passed onto you.
Direct thermal labels are available in 2 main material types; economy (or eco) and semi-gloss. Direct Thermal Eco is the cheaper alternative and semi-gloss is slightly dearer. The semi-gloss finish will also extend the life of your direct thermal printhead. Semi-gloss coatings act as a lubricant and reduce wear on the print head over time.
Direct thermal labels are available in a range of four adhesives:
Standard labels are manufactured with permanent adhesive. Freezer adhesive is suitable to -18oC. High tack adhesives can be used in damp environments without loss of adhesion. Any adhesive other than permanent will be slightly more expensive.
All our direct thermal labels are made in house and we can supply on 4 different core sizes:
Labels are wound around the core onto rolls of 500, 1000, 1500 or 2000 depending upon the size of the label and the application. In general, desktop printers use 25mm, 38mm or 44mm cores. Industrial thermal printers tend to use larger 76mm cores although some variants will be able to use a smaller core. Check the specification of your printer.
We carry stock labels for immediate dispatch. These are available with a 25mm or 76mm core – 38mm and 44mm cores are not held in stock but can be made to order.
