What does the Nutridata System deliver?
Our Nutridata system is built around the needs set out in food labelling regulations – so we built it to deliver exactly what is needed. The key points you need to achieve (in most cases) are:
For all food businesses selling pre-packed food direct to consumers:
- Title – a product title that accurately describes your food product.
- Ingredients – a detailed ingredient list showing all the ingredients with the 14 allergens highlighted automatically.
- Allergen highlighting – a clear method for emphasising allergens within your ingredient listing.
- Quantiative Ingredient Declaration – an accuracte declaration of the proportions of each ingredient in the product.
- Product Weight – Nutridata accuartely calculated the weight of your product.
- Product Durability – use by or best before date coding.
Nutridata Lite – RRP £299 + VAT – PROVIDED FREE TO OUR LABEL CUSTOMERS.
For larger food businesses that qualify for these requirements:
- Full nutrition declaration per 100g
- Energy values in kJ and kcal
- Fat and Saturated Fat
- Carbohydrates and Sugar
- Protein
- Salt
- Fibre as an optional declaration
- All nutrition data duplicated into portion values.
- Traffic light declarations and thresholds.
- Includes parapgraph style nutrition declaration.
Nutridata Pro – RRP £499 + VAT – PROVIDED FOR £200 + VAT TO OUR LABEL CUSTOMERS.
The Nutridata System delivers the final food data outputs you need to be placed on your labels in an excel or CSV format. This table data means you can use your data with any labelling software that accepts database input. You can also use it to create comprehensive specification sheets or ingredient declarations to the public for buffets and staff.
We’ve had a great experience working with this supplier, especially with Natalie - she is always very responsive, professional, and friendly. The pricing is highly competitive and the sales service has been excellent from start to finish. If I could offer one suggestion, it would be to improve the account and invoice management process. It would be really helpful if there were a system for clients to easily track their past orders and invoices in one place.Overall, very pleased with the service and look forward to continuing our collaboration.
Absolutely brilliant service from start to finish. The team are brilliant and the product was excellent quality and exactly what I wanted. Natalie is amazing as are her colleagues. Will definitely be a returning customer. Thank you
Ive used Positive ID Labelling Ltd for all our egg box labels for many years now. Natalie is always above and beyond helpful and the service is exceptionally fast and efficient.
I inadvertently ordered the incorrect label guns which was quickly sorted by Natalie. She was excellent, customer service at its best! Thank you once again
How does the Nutridata System work?
Food labelling in accordance with the EU FIC regulations (adopted in full after Brexit) is a simple logic probelm – but one that involves a lot of calculations.
Nutrition Calculation
Nutridata incorporates a calculation engine – it is simply set up to work with your data and provide reliable nutrition data based on your recipe and/or portion soze.
This uses source data values for ingredients used in your recipe, to calculate the component nutrition data by factoring and adding the component values.
It further determines front of pack traffic light declarations based on the output data.
Nutrition data is only required by larger qualifying food businesses and is a feature in the Nutridata Pro version.
Allergen Highlighting
Coupled with the calculation engine is an allergen identification engine that looks at the components in your ingredients and automatically highlights any of the known allergens.
The known allergen list in the system is editable, but come pre-populated with over 100 known specific allergens.
For example: the word “prawns” is converted to PRAWNS (CRUSTACEAN) or “barley” is converted to BARLEY (GLUTEN).
Allergen highlighting is a basic feature in both Nutridata Pro and Nutridata Lite
QUID Declaration
QUID is an acronym of Quantiative Ingredient Declaration – it simply means that ingredients should be listed in descending order and any mentioned in the title of the product need to be quantified.
Nutridata quantifies everything in your ingredient listing for you based on the recipe – a belt and braces approach which means you will always be 100% compliant.
You can read more about QUID regulations here.
QUID declaration is a basic feature in both Nutridata Pro and Nutridata Lite
I have used your products before in my former role as Internal catering manager at Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire. I have now set up my own business with a friend and we are looking at supplying cooked goods (pies, pasties, ready meals) to local farm shops using local ingredients on a relatively small scall. I love using Nutridata and would love to use your products and work with you again again! – Niki James
How do you use the Nutridata System?
The Nutridata System has been developed in a logical manner based on the needs of the legislation. It works as a parallel to the way in which your kitchen works, making it intuitive to work with. You can watch Nutridata training videos here.
- Input your pantry ingredients data into the system e.g. Bread, butter, cheese, ham, etc.
- Create recipes based on the ingredients available in you pantry – declare the weights used in your recipe
- Create your products based on your recipes – add barcodes, durability, warnings and other information.
- Export your products in a useable format – select options for highlighting, numbering and other options
Step 1: Add Ingredients
Upload a description of your pantry ingredient along with the composition. Add the purchase price and weigh to give you a recipe or product item cost.
In Nutridata Pro, you also add the per 100g values for the key nutrition components – Energy, Fat, Saturated Fat, Carbohydrates, Sugar, (Fibre (optional)) and Salt.
Step 2: Create Recipe
Create a recipe title and add ingredients used in the recipe and Change weights of ingredients so they match the recipe.
You can make bulk recipes and then ‘cut them down’ to portions in the next step.
You can build in ‘cook loss’ if the recipe is then cooked.
Step 3: Build Products
Create products from recipes. For example, if you have a recipe for a cheese sandwich, select that recipe, give it a title and then populate the other optional specifications:
- Price and Barcodes
- Use By or Best Before and days
- Warnings or sales promotion text
- Up to 13 discrete product specific items
Once you have created your product, it is ready to export for use with your labelling software – we recommend you buy either EnLabel or Label Direct Labelling Software to print your labels as part of our one-stop-shop food labelling solution. The export function will email you the file with the formatting your request.
